HIGH SCHOOL The second project was the installation of a new fire alarm system at the high school and improvements to the public announcement system. This project is near 60% complete. Our contractors and architects work closely with the CC Fire Department to ensure that the system meets code requirements. Most of the sensors have been installed and the wiring is being installed at this time. The P.A. system is also almost complete and part of the system is already in use. The new P.A. system enables faster responses to emergencies throughout the district. It will serve all the schools and allow emergency announcements to be made throughout the district with one single call. This system takes advantage of our existing digital telephone network and will provide increased safety to students, teachers and every person who works in the district. The development and design phase of the high school Science Complex is very advanced. If everything goes according to plan, we may be able to go out for bids at the end of January or beginning of February so that construction may start in March. This project contemplates the construction of eight new science labs, four classrooms, restrooms for boys and girls, preparation rooms, chemical storage rooms, elevator and stairways.
The design phase
of the tennis courts has been completed and we expect to be able to go out
for bids within one month. It is expected that the tennis courts at the
middle school will be constructed first. Once the middle school tennis
courts are finished, demolition and construction of the high school tennis
courts will take place immediately.
MIDDLE SCHOOL The design phase of the tennis courts has been completed and we expect to be able to go out for bids within one month. It is expected that the tennis courts at the middle school will be constructed first. The development and design of the additions to the Middle School are also at an advanced stage and may be announced for proposals at the same time as the high school. This project includes the construction of a new cafeteria, kitchen and service area, four full size science laboratories and two science classrooms. It will also include restrooms for boys and girls, and improved access to the auditorium and the gym.
