Tuloso-Midway Sports Stadium Temporarily Closes for Repair

Sports events and practices over next few weeks being rescheduled at other locations

District officials at Tuloso-Midway Independent School District made the decision to close the sports stadium Tuesday night after learning on Tuesday that damage to some of the towers in the stadium could pose a safety hazard. To ensure the safety and well being of all students, staff and community members, the stadium will remain closed until all necessary repairs are made.

The District will immediately begin working with engineers to further evaluate repairs that are necessary and determine the time needed to complete the repairs. The following precautionary measures are in place to maintain a safe environment and meet student and community needs during this time:

Everything will be done to get the stadium back in operation as soon as possible, but the top priority for the District at this time is the safety of its students and families and all others who use the facility. A revised schedule of sports events will be released as soon as it is confirmed. Details of an estimated timeline on repair completions and the reopening of the stadium will be made available as engineers complete their evaluation of the project and provide this information to the District.
