Prerequisites:  This course requires Microsoft Windows.  It's perfect for new users because it introduces the basic features of the Windows operating system.

Turning the computer on and starting Windows
Using the mouse (left and right buttons)
The Windows Desktop

    Taskbar
    Arranging icons

Working with Windows

    Window Elements
    Minimizing and maximizing a window
    Moving and resizing a window
    Scrolling through window contents
    Closing a window
    Switching between programs and windows

Using Menus and Toolbars in Windows Programs

    File menu (new, open, save, print, & exit)
    Edit menu (undo, select all, cut, copy, & paste)
    View Menu (Arranging files, large icons, small icons, list, & details)
    Using Windows Help (Using the Search function to find specific information)

Using the Start Menu - Starting Programs

Working with Disks, Files, and Folders
    Exploring "My Computer"
    Understanding the icons: A drive = floppy disk drive, C drive = hard drive, 
    D = CD Rom drive, F drive = network drive
    Creating folders
    Moving folders (dragging, cut, copy, and paste)
    Renaming folders
    Deleting files (Recycle Bin)
    Viewing file detail
Working with Documents - Saving and Printing
    Using the "My Documents" folder
Customizing the Desktop
